The flight is operated each Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at dawn, weather permitting, with no minimum number of passengers required. If a date is required other than one already scheduled, a minimum of 6 passengers will be required. There is flight on a Wednesday as this is the Pilots official day off as authorised by Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

Minimum recommended age is 8 years. There is no maximum age limit as long as you are fit enough to get in and out of the wicker basket and are able to stand and enjoy the flight for its duration.

There is no weight limitation. However, when making your reservation please let us know the weights of all members in your party, as this can affect the loading.

No cancellations or changes to flight bookings will be accepted within 7 days prior to the day of flight, and no refund given.

Safety is paramount in our operations. Strong winds or heavy rain could result in cancellation by our Pilot, and passengers may then rebook or receive a refund (from the Agent). If the Chief Pilot knows in advance that the weather will not be suitable the Bookings Office will contact the passenger by 1pm the day prior if we are going to cancel early. Flights may be cancelled on site if conditions are not suitable as safety is our main priority. Less then 10% of our flights are cancelled. Read 'Let's Talk About The Weather' for clarification.

Dress according to the weather. Please wear casual clothing, and sturdy walking-type shoes (feet get cold and wet in the early morning dew). In cooler weather you will need a sweater or jacket. It does not get any colder in the balloon because we do not reach high altitudes and there is no wind chill factor as the balloon moves with the wind. The burners will also provide warmth. If you’re tall, you may need a cap, and sunglasses can be advisable in Autumn & Spring.

To meet at the Northam Airfield just before sunrise - the most beautiful time of the day, and also when the weather conditions are most favourable. As sunrise changes so does the meeting time which can be as late as 6.00am midwinter and as early as 3.30am in late spring

Please allow around 4-5 hours for the morning's experience

The flight will last 45 minutes to an hour (although it not possible to guarantee flight duration).

After the flight, the Ground Crew will take you to breakfast venue for chilled champagne and cooked breakfast, celebrated with the Pilots who will present First Flight Certificates. Please advise any special dietary requirement, or vegetarian or vegan breakfast requirements

It is important that passengers arrive at the Northam Airfield prior to the meeting time. We launch from approximately 12 sites in the Avon Valley and late arrivals to the Airfield may be left behind.
